Women in Rivers State have urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to caution its officials to upload results from polling units during Saturdayβs March 18 governorship and state Assembly polls in the state.
Hundreds of the women on Wednesday stormed the INEC headquarters in Rivers State, and protested the attitude of its officials in the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.
The women, from the 23 local government areas of the state dressed in black attire, said they would not tolerate a repeat of what transpired onΒ February 25, when elections results were not uploaded from polling units and in some cases original results sheets were not seen.

Speaking, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, Anita Natasha, who handed over the protest letter to an official of INEC, said their demand was for the commission to do the right thing.
She stated, βWe are urging INEC to please do the right thing come March 18. It is a lot of sacrifice for us to come out to vote.
βWe are voting because we are deciding our future and those of our unborn children.
βIt is important to us. We are begging, INEC please, stick to the Electoral Act and deliver free, fair and credible elections to us.β
