Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno has directed relevant authorities to investigate an attempted murder of a member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state.

The NYSC medical doctor posted to St. Theresa Hospital, Use Abat in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of the state was attacked on January 2, 2023, by an unknown person who broke into her apartment and asked her to transfer money into his account.

It was gathered that her assailant left her after sensing that help was coming her way when some patients in the hospital knocked on her door.

Recall that one Dr. Babatunde in former Twitter now X tweeted ‘‘A Nigerian doctor has cried out for help after a junior doctor who was almost killed, was allegedly forced back to work by the Managing Director of the hospital she’s carrying out her NYSC assignment.”

“He assured the citizens of his commitment to the safety and security of the lives and property of citizens and residents in the state.”

According to @enodamade, ‘‘the junior doctor was attacked in the accommodation given to her by St Theresa’s Hospital Use Abat, Ibiono Ibom, Akwa Ibom. He further stated that the doctor was forced back to work on the second day after the attack.

He tweeted “My hands are shaking as I type this. I almost lost a dear Junior doctor to the cold hands of death in her NYSC PPA. She was attacked in the accommodation given to her by St Theresa’s Hospital Use Abat, Ibiono Ibom. Akwa Ibom.

‘‘After the assailant tried to k*ll her, the MD of the hospital forced her to work on the second day. Look at the pictures. See her neck! And an MD who swore an oath to protect a junior colleague asked her to work on the day after the attack! I am gutted!

“@_PastorUmoEno please sir help up protect this young doctor. We don’t want to lose another young promising doctor sir.”
