To the family of Mr. Collins Akpabio from Ediene in Abak local government area of Akwa Ibom State, it is a celebration following the safe arrival of a baby boy in the family.
Akpabio, a petty trader is a happy man as Uduak, his wife delivered a bouncing baby weighing 3.6 kg at 12:03 a.m on Christmas day.
As is customary, Martha, the governor’s wife on Wednesday morning paid an unscheduled visit to General Hospital, Ukpum Abak to welcome the 2019 Christmas baby, and offered special prayers for the baby and the parents.
Mrs. Emmanuel expressed optimism that the birth of the baby would herald good tidings for the family and the state at large especially as he arrived on Christmas day.
She presented gifts to the mother ofthe state, interacted with other nursing mothers in the maternity ward and presented gift packages and cash to their babies.
The First lady wished the babies and their parents Merry Christmas and a rewarding New Year in advance.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Leo Umanah represented by Dr. Nsikan Okodi, thanked the Governor’s wife for the visit and donation to the nursing mothers this season, pledging that the health-care institution is determined to return to its former glory in service delivery.
Responding, Akpabio, father of the Christmas baby, thanked the governor’s wife for her benevolence and prayed God to bless her.
