Wife of Akwa Ibom Governor has showered love on New Year baby born Friday at 12.04 a.m.
The boy delivered by Ruth Abang, a petty trader from Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, weighed 2.6 kg on delivery.
The Governor’s wife and founder of Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP), Martha Udom Emmanuel who visited the General Hospital, Ikot Ekpene in the morning presented bumper gifts to the mother.
Mrs Udom cuddling the New Year bundle Joy prayed God to protect him, hoping he would usher in glad tidings for the family and the state in general.
As an advocate of Godly parenting, she encouraged the parents to train him in the way of the Lord by infusing sound Christian ethos on him so that he would not depart from such.
The state First Lady also interacted with other nursing mothers in the maternity ward where she gave out special baby packs and cash to their babies.
A compassionate mother, she showed special love and interest to some nursing mothers in the maternity ward who could not afford their bills by offsetting their medical bills.
Dr. Aniekan Asuquo, the Medical Officer on call, who spoke on behalf of the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, commended the governor’s wife for the visit and donations to the nursing mothers and asked God to reward her bountifully.
The mother of the New Year baby, Abang on behalf of other nursing mothers thanked the governor’s wife for her benevolence and prayed God to bless her and her husband.
