The General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has reversed the curse placed by Tafawa Balewa, the former President of Nigeria that no Igbo person will rule Nigeria.

In a viral video, Bakare said God told him to break the curse Balewa placed on them before he died so the Igbos could rule like every other tribe in the country.

The fiery preacher told the congregation that Tafawa Balewa cursed the Igbos the day he was killed.

According to him, they removed his turban, poured wine on his head and forced him to drink before he was shot dead. He cursed them saying that no one from the Igbo tribe will rule the country.

He said he will break the curse as instructed by God because this is not the generation that killed Tafawa Balewa. He concluded by saying that this generation of Igbos will have access to the throne.

In the video, Pastor Tunde Bakare said: “Why should anyone in this country say the Igbo man cannot be president of Nigeria? I was at Imo State and I told them the reason why the Igbo cannot rule Nigeria and I want to remove the curse today. Do you know what happened?

”The day Tafawa Balewa was killed, they removed his turban, poured wine on his head, forced him to drink and shot him. In the process, he cursed them saying, ‘none of your tribe will ever rule Nigeria.

“I want to break the curse today because this generation of Igbos was not part of those people. By the authority of God’s word, I reverse the curse of Tafawa Balewa over the Igbo generation. Henceforth, the Igbo’s will have access to the throne like any other Nigerian.”
