Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho shone like a star as Nigeria on Friday beat Liberia 2-0 in the first round of World Cup qualifier matches played across Africa.
The match, played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, was lit by Iheanacho who bagged both goals for the Super Eagles.
Both goals were scored in the first half.
The result puts Nigeria at the top of Group C after one round of matches.
The other two teams in the group – Cape Verde and the Central African Republic – had earlier played out a stalemate in Douala, Cameroon.
