As the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin continues to spark a wave of protests across United States of America, some frontline politicians have in unison spoken against the police brutality.

Consequently, the US Democratic Party Vice Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris has called for an end to the incessant police brutality against blacks in the country.

Harris in her Twitter handle wrote on Thursday “Jacob Blake, shot 7 times in the back in broad daylight in front of his three young sons. 7 times in the back. In broad daylight.

“In front of his three young sons. As VP Biden put it, the shots fired at Mr. Blake pierced the soul of our nation … It must end.”

This was as Wisconsin’s attorney general has named the officer who shot a black man on Sunday, sparking days of demonstrations.

Josh Kaul told reporters on Wednesday that Rusten Sheskey shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back as he opened the door of his car.

Before Thursday, President Donald Trump had tweeted, “We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets. My team just got off the phone with Governor Evers who agreed to accept federal assistance (Portland should do the same!).”

“TODAY, I will be sending federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Kenosha, WI to restore LAW and ORDER!” Trump added.

Later, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement, “President Trump condemns violence in all forms and believes we must protect all Americans from chaos and lawlessness.

“This is why he is encouraging Democrat Governors to request the National Guard and federal law enforcement to augment their local law enforcement efforts. We have assisted Wisconsin in the deployment of almost 1,000 National Guard and over 200 federal law enforcement personnel, which include FBI and U.S. Marshals.”

Joe Biden, the US Democratic Presidential Candidate also condemned what he called “needless violence” in the aftermath of the officer involved shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, WI, while the Democratic presidential nominee said that he spoke to the victim’s family on Wednesday.

In a 90-second video posted on Twitter on Wednesday, Biden said that he spoke to Blake’s family and told them that “Justice must and will be done.”
