The Saint Academy School building collapse in Jos, Plateau State, claimed 22 lives and left 120 injured.

Trapped pupils who were taking exams in the collapsed building were heard crying for help under the rubble, according to agency report.

The tragedy worsened as parents, unable to bear the loss of their four children, passed away.

Boy Called Mün, @MunTheShinobi, wrote in X (formerly Twitter) ‘‘Lost 4 kids to the school building collapse in Jos. Mom heard news, mom dies from shock.

Mun, who is the President of The Nigerian Association of Psychology Students University of Jos stated, ‘‘Dad heard news, dad dies too. A whole Family wiped out in hours.’’

The incident has sparked widespread grief and calls for accountability on social media.

In a tragic follow-up to the Saint Academy School building collapse in Jos, Plateau State, the devastating news of parents passing away after losing four children in the disaster has shocked the nation.

The collapse, which occurred last Friday, claimed 22 lives and left over 120 injured, drawing widespread grief and outrage.

Parents who lost their children in the incident could not bear the loss and have since died, adding to the heart-wrenching tragedy.

Reactions on social media have been filled with sorrow and calls for accountability. One user lamented, “They dropped their kids in school not knowing it would be the last time,” while another expressed, “The way I shouted! This is heart-wrenching. A whole family. Lord, rest their souls.”

Many are calling for justice and stricter building safety regulations, with some suggesting severe penalties for those responsible for constructing the building.

The incident has not only highlighted the dire need for improved infrastructure and safety standards in schools but also underscored the broader issue of governance and accountability in Nigeria. As the country mourns this profound loss, there is a growing demand for reforms to prevent such tragedies in the future.
