Tuesday’s attack on Yelwa Zangam village of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State by bandits has resulted in shortage of blood for the victims.
Many people were injured in the deadly attack that led to the death of more than 36 persons.
It is understood that the government-owned specialist hospital has been hit by a shortage of blood.
The hospital, it was gathered too, could no longer cope with the demand for blood.
The Red Cross Nigeria Plateau State has called on public-spirited citizens and good Samaritans to donate blood to victims of the attack.
Head, communications, Red Cross Nigeria, Mafeng Mark, in an S O S message on WhatsApps, urged the public to donate blood to the victims of the attack on admission at various hospitals that have run short of blood to save them.
The message reads: “S. O. S, Red Cross Nigeria, Plateau state hereby pleads with the general population to donate blood to victims of recent attacks.
“As a matter of urgency, please visit the Plateau specialist hospital for the donation, all types of blood are needed.”
