Β¨I have a baby now at 19 years and I don’t have anything to take care of my baby girl. I am begging them to help so I can have a hand work. I will appreciate it so that I won’t suffer with this little child,β a Libyan returnee wept profusely.
Vivian Imunero, who is among the 65 Libyan returnees, while speaking to Vanguard, appealed to both the Delta and Edo state governors for help.
An indigene of Delta state, she was said to have lived in a village close to Benin City with her parents before traveling to Libya but is nursing a two-year old baby she had for a Libyan, who assisted her after she was abandoned by her sponsor resident in Italy.
Vivian, who arrived in Edo state last Thursday, stated how she ate the heart of a chicken during an oath taking in a village in Benin City as ordered by her madam (sponsor) with a view to taking her to Europe through Libya.
Narrating her ordeal, she said, Β¨It was one guy called Biggy that helped me. He stays at Upper Sakponba road here in Benin City. Somebody in our village took me to him and he contacted one Madam who is in Italy. And he gave me N15,000 that day. As we speak, she is threatening me that she will kill me because I took an oath before I left.
Β¨We were two girls that went to the native doctor and we took an oath that if I get there and run away or sleep with her husband let the juju kill me. And if I fail to pay her money let the juju kill me. After that they killed a chicken and gave us the heart of the chicken to eat. After eating it they gave me water to bath and they told me to go.Biggy is the one moving girls to Italy through Libya and from there our Madam will pick the girl.
Β¨The madam is angry that I am supposed to wait in Libya until I succeed in coming to Italy because she wants me to come and be making money for her through prostitution. She doesn’t care how I fed while I was in Libya. She never sent me money to eat. I was even raped when I came to Libya and she does not care.Β¨
Β¨As we speak, the same woman took my younger sister to Libya and she is over there now involved in prostitution. Her family stays in the village here in Benin. My younger sister is into prostitution there. I am not happy about it. I was raped in a place called Gatron in Libya.
Β¨This was when we were going to Saba. Our car parked there and they said we are going to sleep there. These Libyan men will come to the section they keep women. They will wake us up one after the other and rape us. They will always point gun on your head and you must follow them. But I thank God I did not contact any disease after all these.
Β¨I discovered I was pregnant on April 26, 2017 when I went for urine test. I felt bad when I knew because I felt I am still very young to have a baby, besides nobody to help me. The God that gave me the child knows I must feed after all the birds that fly have nobody but God feeds them. I just prayed that God will help me and that was why I named her Treasure,Β¨ she stated.
