A 40-year-old man from Ikpe Annang Village in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State who slaughtered his 70-year-old biological mother is cooling his feet in the cell of Akwa Ibom Police Command.
One Inyangake James Peter is said to have gruesomely murdered his mother, one Mma-Offiong James Peter, on 4 April, 2024 at about 9:00 a.m. at Ikpe Annang Village in Etim Ekpo.
A close to the family source confided in Straightnews that the suspect who was alleged to be mentally unstable was taken to various places for treatment, but one day he returned to the family compound pretending to be sound in health.

In the morning of April 4, he was said to have taken a matchet and slaughtered his mother who was sleeping.
In a press release issued on Monday, April 15 by CSP Odiko MacDon, the outgoing State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said ”The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one Inyangake James Peter, 40 years old for gruesomely murdering his biological mother, one Mma-Offiong James Peter, about 70 years old on 4/4/2024 at about 9:00am at Ikpe Annang Village in Etim Ekpo LGA.
”The suspect who confessed to the crime has been transferred to the State CID for discrete investigation.
The suspect on interrogation alleged that he had a voice saying ” kill her,” ” kill her ” and he decided to oblige.
”Similarly, one Solomon Asuquo Isaac of Ikot Obok Nsit in Nsit Ibom LGA who murdered his son, one Iboro Isaac, 18 years old last year as a result of family misunderstanding, has been arrested.
”Cases of some family members killing their biological relations has been of great concern to the Command in recent times,” the Chief Superintendent of Police stated.
