Two suspected robbery women were burnt to death by mob in Surulere, Ogbomosho Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The suspects, Mary Linus and Bose Olumide, who had reportedly been on the wanted list of the police for a long time were caught with two locally made guns used for criminal activities.
Eyewitnesses narrated that the suspects were notorious in their attacks, as they not only robbed their victims but also subjected them to physical harm.
Upon apprehending the suspects, the mob paraded them at the community square, beat and set them on fire.
By the time a police team arrived at the scene of the incident, they had been burnt to death, though it is known if police have arrested he perpetrators of the crime.
In a viral video seen by Straightnews on Friday, the suspects were burnt to ashes and their charred bodies with heap of dust covered the main road.
According to an eyewitness, the suspects recently attacked a woman and her family at their residence, forcibly collecting a significant amount of money from them.
It was learnt that the woman sought help from members of the local vigilante group stationed at the junction, who swiftly responded, tracked down the perpetrators, and apprehended them.
Instead of handing the suspects over to the police, the mob resorted to violence and ultimately killed the suspects.
