In an effort to rid Akwa Ibom State of fake and expired drugs, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria publicly burnt the drugs worth N18,675,850 on Friday.
The PSN Chairman, Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Akwaowo Akpabio, said the body would not tolerate expired drugs within the reach of citizens in the state.
Akpabio used the occasion to call on Akwa Ibom State government to reconstitute the task force on fake and expired drugs in the state, explaining that Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria is not empowered to rid stores of fake drugs.
