The 26-year-old was on target as the Light Blues steamrolled the White and Sky Blues and believes the Scudetto is more important to the Naples club.
Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly says he would prefer winning the Italian Serie A to playing in the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The Senegal international scored the leveller as the Stadio San Paolo outfit brushed aside Simeone Inzaghi’s men to make it five wins in a row in the top flight of Italian football to keep them at par with Juventus Football Club.
And the defender believes the honour of winning the Scudetto cannot be compared to making an appearance in the final of Europe’s elite club competition while keeping a level head despite their fast start to the new league season.
“It was a very difficult match; to win against Lazio isn’t an easy undertaking,” Koulibaly told Radio Kiss Kiss.
According to him, “They have beaten Milan among others, so to beat them makes us very happy. Although we were down at halftime, in the interval our manager told us to remain calm because we were on the right path, that one goal would be enough to unblock the result.
“We must think only about ourselves. And the Scudetto? All of the big clubs want to win it, us too. However, we will speak about it further down the road, we’ll see what position we are in when February-March come around.
“What would I choose between the Champions League final and the Serie A title? I prefer the Scudetto, it would be very important for the city,” he pointed out.
