A native doctor and five suspected cultists who turned Nwaniba axis to killing field during the brutal cult clash have met their waterloo.

The cultists were said to have been responsible for the clash along Udo Ekpo Mkpo, Nwaniba and Ekpri Nsukarra axis in May 2023 which claimed more than 12 persons and led to loss of goods worth millions of Naira.

The Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olatoye Durosinmi stated this while addressing a mini press conference at the State Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia in Uyo Local Government Area on Friday.

The Commissioner stated further that the police also arrested Clement Sunday Udofia a.k.a Ikang Inwang – the native doctor who used to prepare charms for the cultists.

‘‘As a Command, in line with the directives of the current IGP to flush out criminal elements, we remain committed to providing the best of Policing Services for the good People of Akwa Ibom State in line with international best practices,’’ he assured.

Durosinmi used the opportunity to thank the Inspector-General of Police, acting IGP Alukayode Adeolu Egbetokun for giving the right direction for effective policing.

He also praised the Akwa Ibom State government for its support, sister security agencies for the robust synergy and the good people of the State for partnering the police in an effort to curb crimes.
