An Akwa Ibom Pentecostal pastor has berated Nigerian leaders who are not free from tissues of corruption, but take the lead in the crusade against corruption practices.
Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia, who is the state Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Akwa Ibom branch, lamented that apart from some Nigerian leaders who crusade against corruption being naïve and biased, yet they are enmeshed in corruption practices.
Preaching Sunday to mark first Sunday in the New Year service at Insight Bible Church, Uyo, he lamented a situation where some leaders do not know their date of birth, yet they want to crucify others who make mistakes in their ages.
The man of God who read from Daniel 7:27 and preached on the theme: Kingdom Dominion also condemned leaders who support attacks on genuine Christians, noting that such leaders cannot succeed in ruling well.
Ukafia, however, noted that only gospel through God can bring about change in this country and the people from all forms of hardships and difficulties and not political parties which have failed to provide solutions to numerous human problems.
He advised Christians to always register and collect their permanent voters cards to enable to vote for God-fearing leaders who will take the country out of difficulties.
Also preaching in his church, Pastor Sam Etok, Regional Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, South South 33 Region, 12 Urua Udofia Street, Uyo, emphasized the need for Christians to always covenant with God at the beginning of a New Year.
Etok, who preached Sunday on the theme: The Covenant of His Presence, cited Abraham, Noah and Moses, among others as people God entered into a covenant with, explaining that this covenant concerns walking with God and not walking in the way of God.
The regional overseer who read from Genesis 18 cited God’s direction, rest of mind, abundance of joy, divine security and separation for special promotion as reasons for Christians to enter into a covenant with Him.
