    Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Fluctuate In Three Days

    COVID-19 pandemic cases in Nigeria fluctuated in the past three days, figures from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control have shown.

    Nigeria recorded 205 cases on Saturday, March 13; 399 on Friday, March 12 and 287 on Thursday, March 11.

    NCDC tweeted on Saturday ”On the 13th of March 2021, 205 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.”

    This is as Nigeria recorded four new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 2,013.

    ”The 205 new cases are reported from 15 states- Ondo (33), Lagos (25), FCT (22), Bauchi (21), Akwa Ibom (15), Kaduna (14), Katsina (13).”

    Others were ”Ogun (13), Rivers (11), Edo (8), Ekiti (4), Imo (4), Kano (3), Nasarawa (2), and Niger (2).’’

    According to the public health agency, ”Till date, 160537 cases have been confirmed, 144714 cases have been discharged and 2013 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    ”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.

    ”Our discharges today include 439 community recoveries in FCT and 96 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines,’’ it added.

    Global Situation

    Globally, 118,754,336 COVID-19 confirmed cases, and 2,634,370 deaths were reported as of March 12, 2021, WHO said.

    The world health body stated that a total of 300,002,228 vaccine doses have been administered as of March 10, 2021. 

    Americas has recorded 52,570,332 confirmed cases; Europe, 40,857,971; South-East Asia, 13,852,787; Eastern Mediterranean, 6,829,978; Africa, 2,939,575; and Western Pacific, 1,702,948, WHO reported.
