Like ocean wave, COVID-19’s infections in Nigeria, Wednesday, flew to 1,133, the highest in a single day.
In its Twitter handle, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reported that five persons died.
“On the 23rd of December 2020, 1,133 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
The 1,133 new cases are reported from 18 states- Lagos (397), FCT (357), Kaduna (81), Plateau (63), Katsina (46), Sokoto (32), Oyo (28), Ogun (21), Kano (19), Rivers (18), Osun (13), Edo (12), Niger (12), Bayelsa (11), Borno (11), Bauchi (8), Jigawa (2), and Ondo (2),” NCDC tweeted.
According to the health agency, “Till date, 80,922 cases have been confirmed, 69,274 cases have been discharged and 1,236 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
Meanwhile, NCDC stated “Our discharges today include 134 community recoveries in Lagos State and 96 community recoveries in the FCT managed in line with guidelines.”
