A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has described the demise of Obadiah Mailafia, ex-Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, as ‘fishy.’
Omokri, the Nigerian socio-political activist, has urged relevant authorities to independently investigate Mailafia’s death.
“Mailafia’s passing is fishy and should be independently investigated,” he tweeted.
The former presidential candidate died at the National Hospital in Abuja.
Mailafia, who is an indigene of Southern Kaduna, recently accused some government officials of being responsible for terrorism in Nigeria particularly sponsorship of Boko Haram insurgency.
