The General Overseer of the Redeemed Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye led members of the church to protest against the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.

Straightnews learned that the protest was triggered days after Boko Haram executed the Chairman of CAN in Michika local government area, Adamawa State, Pastor Lawan Andimi, who was abducted by the insurgents on January 3 and gruesomely murdered despite being offered a N50 million ransom.

This is as a seminarian Michael Nnadi abducted on January 8 in Kaduna by unknown gunmen was killed a few days ago.

In a video shared on Twitter, Adeboye is seen carrying a placard leading the members of the church in a peaceful protest tagged ‘prayer walk.’

The inscription on his placard reads, “All souls are precious to God.”

RCCG had earlier announced that the prayer walk would start around 10 a.m on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Christians, Sunday, stormed the streets of Akwa Ibom state for a peaceful protest against the incessant killings of most especially Christians, across the country.

The Christians led by the state CAN Chairman, Rev. (Dr.) Ndueso Ekwere expressed their disgust over the many lives lost to attacks by suspected herdsmen across the country.

Some of the protesters displayed a placard with “Mr. President Stop These Killings Please” written on them.

The Christians lamented the poor handling of the situation by the government and called on leaders especially at the centre to do their best to protect the people.

At the gate of Government House, Uyo, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, Secretary to the State Government thanked them for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves and pledged to send their petition to the appropriate quarters.

President Muhammadu Buhari had said on Tuesday, January 28, that he was surprised about the growing insecurity but that his administration would go ‘harder’ on bandits.
