In the field of medicine, many are called to swear the famous Hippocratic Oath but few are chosen to conscientiously live by it. Those living by it are few whose loud voices are heard and feared outside the stone-wall of hospitals or clinics. The few ones who hang their stethoscopes on their shoulders come out to take bold stands on controversial health issues instead of merely attending or prescribing drugs to convulsing patients.
Judy Mikovits, a US-trained medical doctor, is one of the doctors whose strident voice on controversial health issues rings like thunder. She has been called the most accomplished scientist of the 21st century. She revolutionised the treatment of HIV/AIDS and published a crack-buster article in a scientific journal. The controversial article shackled the scientific community for exposing the deadly secret of the disease. She found a ready companionship in Law, another great human calling for societal change, to push her thoughts and dissect big money, big government and big pharma.
Mikovits and Kent Heckenlively delved into more research and co-authored what is seen as a controversial book: Plague of Corruption. Mikovits, a holder of Ph.D, spent 20 years at the National Cancer Institute, working with Dr. Frank Ruscetti, one of the founding fathers of human retrovirology. Heckenlively, JD, is a former attorney, a founding editor of Age of Autism, and a science teacher. In the book, the duo reveal that the highly guarded cover-up and propaganda used in finding a cure to HIV is equally employed by some privileged medics and businessmen against COVID-19 pandemic to enable them to farm from the virus that has killed thousands and will kill more.
But seriously, there are two classes of human beings reside in this terrestrial ball: the educated and the uneducated, the knowledgeable and the ignorant, the strong and the weak, the rich and the poor. The educated appear to come from the extra-terrestrial realm with deep knowledge in many things. They have super minds and are destiny people. They do not believe everything but have hope in achievable ones. They are the shakers and movers of events, their academic background, religious standing, social belief and race, notwithstanding. They pave the road for others to trod and dictate the space for the rest to follow. They fashion an agenda and follow it to the latter. They think for others to implement for them. Yes, they could crafty and corrupt. Is the world not a vanity abode?
But the uneducated are easily tossed by ecdysis. They may be armed with Harvard certificates, wealthy as Aliko Dangote, occupy high ecclesiastical order like Pope Francis, favoured like the biblical Meshibosheth, and live in White House like Donald Trump, yet they are ignorant of the realities of life. God created them, but they have made themselves lesser minds and endless solution seekers. They can argue, reason from right to left and beat their chests- that is the sad story. They resemble musical cymbals that make noise and the noise fades away quickly. Ignorance is no respecter of religion, race, education, supersonic family background, and business. Plague of Corruption has torn between the divide of the educated and the uneducated.
In an interview with a journalist, Mikovits recalled that in 1999, she was part of the health team comprising Dr Anthony Fauci as Head of Pandemic Task Force and Dr. Roberts Redfield, Chairman of CDC that separated HIV virus from the saliva and blood of the patient. According to her, the team discovered a cure to HIV but Fauci rejected the report. Fauci, according to her, directed the cover-up 25 years. Was the report rejected because the cure was not found or that the cure would stop becoming a tree of ‘reaping’ for a few? How many doctors or other health-care experts in the US came to her rescue or support in the face of arrest, detention, and jail despite her stout defence of the cure? Has HIV/AIDS been eradicated or managed? This is the crux of the matter.
Enter COVID-19. Mikovits admitted that the same gang-up against HIV is on the door to bury any genuine cure or effort to find a cure to the pandemic. She revealed that the virus was studied and manipulated in a laboratory using animals as guinea pig. According to her, the test took place between North Carolina Institute for Detroit US Army Research Institute for Infectious Diseases and Wuhan Laboratory in China. “If the virus were a natural occurrence, it would have taken 800 years to happen,” she submitted.
As a confirmation, Fauci, the pandemic undertaker, confirmed this in an interview “We know from the study that there will be a delay in progression significantly greater than the individuals who not take the drug.” The drug here refers to hydroxychloroquine recommended for the treatment of HIV, which he rebuffed.
Mikovits, however, queried the involvement of Bill Gates with no medical background or expertise but with billions of US Dollars campaigning for the use of the vaccine to cure COVID-19. In an instance, Gates spoke, “Normalcy will return only if we vaccinate the entire global population.”
Didn’t Melinda, the wife of Gates and a director of Gates and Melinda Foundation say that she saw dead bodies all over the streets of Africa? Assuming the vaccine advocated by her husband is approved, while the dead bodies are there? Is it not alleged that he is indiscreetly sponsoring Infectious Disease Bill spearheaded by Femi Gbajabiamila, the speaker of House of Representatives. Is it alleged that he has paid $10 million for the speedy passage of the bill into law to make the use of the vaccine (still in the offing) compulsory for Nigerians?
As a human being, Mikovits may inject prejudice and sentiments into the book based on her pedigree and experience and relationship with some characters and organisations concerned in finding a cure to HIV/AIDS, an illusive health virus. Yet, the book should not be written off as a biased piece churned out by a disgraced and bruised medic. In listening to her in an interview, one could discern passion and wisdom and knowledge from speaks volumes of the new world order midwifed by a few for many.
Yet, in his editorial review of the book, Dr. Luc Montagnier, 2008 Nobel Laureate for the isolation of the HIV retrovirus says “One of the main problems of our time is the public loss of confidence in the scientific community because of a too-often corrupt coalition governmental and corporate entities. Judy Mikovits’s and Kent Heckenlively’s book delves into the midst of this rampant corruption, which hides from the public scientific truths which might go against these corporate economic interests.”
In his review, Dr. Stephanie Seneff, Senior Research Scientist, MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, comments “What this book teaches you more than anything else is that science is a dangerous game. The notion that science is precise and unambiguous is wrong. When there is doubt, there is the potential for powerful interested parties to make life miserable for a scientist with integrity. Throughout the book, intrigue is seamlessly intertwined with fascinating revelations about the still poorly understood science behind the potential role of retroviruses in mysterious debilitating diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome and autism.”
Assuming these are jokes, what is the position of the World Health Organisation on COVID-19? Before WHO declared it a pandemic, Fauci had also come out with a vaccine to cure the virus. Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina says his country has discovered COVIC herbal tea that can clear the virus. WHO said ‘well, it has to undergo the clinical test.’ Not done, WHO says it will collect samples of COVID-19 cure from 70 herbal doctors. Whichever is curative is what the organization will recommend for use globally? A few days after, a WHO official admits that the virus could last up to five years. Five years to find a cure for five years for the virus to disappear? This is another puzzle.
It is further alleged that a medical doctor in the United States is paid $13,000 per patient for treatment while US insurance companies pay highly for every death linked to COVID-19. In short, it is a big business there. US Donald Trump is more confused as his handling of the pandemic could affect his November 2020 Presidential elections. He ven blamed China for trying to manipulate the virus to favour Joe Biden, the US Democratic Presidential nominee. Though he disagrees with Fauci on the pandemic, he is optimistic that a vaccine for the virus could be found in early 2021.
Nigeria is a different kettle of fish in the coronavirus fight. From politics to health, Nigeria is a rudderless ship wobbling in the mid-sea unable to berth. Bring any health formula other countries have thrown away, Nigerian leaders will accept if you can come with financial assistance or tips or egunje. When President Muhammadu directed PTF on COVID-19 to order COVID herbal tea from Madagascar, Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health says the tea will be subjected to clinical tests because the same plant is germinating in Nigerian soil. Does the statement make sense? Since the plant is growing on Nigerian soil, why didn’t he direct the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria to pluck and test its efficacy for use? National Food for Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), yet the body is a toothless bulldog in finding and approving any cure to it despite the avalanche of herbal medicines in the country?
Maurice Iwu, a professor of Pharmacology announced that he has found a cure to COVID-19, the minister and his co-travellers closed their ears because the proposal may not yield more ‘dividends’ to the health front-liners. Nigerians kicked against bringing Chinese medics to manage COVID-19, the federal government through the Health minister gave deaf ears. On Thursday, he announced to the world that he did not know the whereabouts of the delegation comprised 14 medics and health technicians since they were ‘imported’ by CCECC. Good explanation but flawed reasoning. Is it now that Nigeria has found that she is a little pawn in the hands of Chinese? Chinese gifts blindfolded Nigerian leaders, so let the reggae of deceit and foolhardiness continue.
Dr. Rashid Buttar in his video entitled: “COVID-19 Conspiracy” harped on the difference between danger and fear. Buttar says “I am not afraid of the virus,” explaining that he is even willing to contract it to prove he is not worried at all. The conspiracy theory being woven around the omnipotence of the pandemic is trying to create fear and panic among the people, thereby making many to be desperate in looking for a desperate cure. So, what is suggested as a cure is readily embraced? This is a fluke.
The issue is that Nigeria should not be insular to world politics, but the leaders must not be zombies in world politics. The leaders must not allow religion and ethnicity to becloud their sense of reasoning. The country and its future must be paramount, not parochial interest, and sectionalism. It appears while most world leaders are going to Mars and perhaps Venus, Nigerian leaders want to return to the pit, a furtive journey, and drifting place. Let our leaders come out of the dark to liberate millions from economic bondage, social miasma, political doldrum, and spiritual perpetuity. If our leaders rely on the Western powers for a cure, our economy and political independence will be a thing of the past. Carve a niche for Nigerians and devise your pandemic cure to save the lives of Nigerians instead of dabbling into world politics that benefits the colonial masters and their surrogates.
