The Nigeria Police Force has arrested five suspects in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State over alleged kidnapping of a nine-year-old child and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms.
The suspects: Bello Musa, 27, gang leader; Ibrahim Rere, 70, Musa Sani, 33, Isa Aliyu, 50 and Hudu Yahaya, 35 were said to have kept Hadiza Husseini, the victim in the house of one of the suspects.
It was gathered that the suspects demanded N500, 000 ransoms from the 70-year-old father of the victim.
CSP Jimoh Moshood, the Force Spokesman, who stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja Tuesday, said the police recovered from them two locally made Dane guns; one locally made pistol; one short Dane gun and six live cartridges.
The spokesman said that the victim was rescued on January 19 by the police team after four days.
“All the suspects arrested confessed to the crime and admitted to the various roles they played in the commission of the offences.
“They will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation,” the Force spokesman said.
