The security caused by the recently inaugurated Adat Ifang Divisional Police Headquarters in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State is said to have stirred up many people to rush for land in the area.
The police headquarters built and donated by Obong Alexander Udo Unwa Ekpo Foundation to police was inaugurated by the State Commissioner for Police, Mr. Olatoye Durosinmi on December, 2023.
The area hitherto noted for such crimes as kidnapping, robbery and burglary, among other vices forced many villagers of Ikot Edem Ewa and Ikot Udo and their adjoining villages in Adat Ifang Clan, Ukanafun to have fled and abandoned the area.
Recall that Obong Alexander Udo Unwa Ekpo, the Clan Head of Adat Ifang was kidnapped, brutalised and detained for a month and was almost murdered by his abductors for failure to pay ransom.
