Since the intimate video of Tiwa Savage and her lover surfaced on the internet days ago, the Nigerian musical diva and celebrity has fought the battle of her life to regain her reputation.
Shortly after the leaked tape, such celebrities as Actress Sonia Ogiri, Chioma Ifemeludike, Deji Adeyanju criticised her and told her to face what she did.
In a move to support the sonorous singer in her dark times, some Nigerian celebrities posted messages on their social media pages with hashtags like ‘A Queen I stan,’ ‘I stand with Tiwa.’
Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie, through his social media handle, said Tiwa has taught people how to withstand blackmail and overcome it. Rather than criticising Tiwa, Yul suggested that people should support her.
”For me, I think everyone other celebrity, should follow in Yul’s footsteps and support Tiwa Savage. In a battle, if your fellow soldier is wounded, you don’t abandon them, rather you help them fight and see how you could be of help to them. Tiwa Savage is a wounded soldier and needs every bit of support she can get from people, most especially her fellow celebrities.
”Words of encouragement can go a long way to heal her. Even though she has been trying her best before the public, to see that the issue doesn’t put her down, deep down she’s heartbroken and feels like she could change the past.
”She is human and can make mistakes too, rather than other celebrities using it to mock her, they should stand behind her and support her. Today it’s Tiwa, Tomorrow it can be anyone, and that person would expect people to show them love and support them too.
The recent news flying around claims that the leaked s3x tape has cost the singer about four endorsement deals.
Although the reports are unconfirmed, popular Nigerian actress, Georgina has shared her two cents about the issue via her verified Instagram page.
According to Onuoha, after the s3x tape leaked, Nigerian celebrities did a disservice to Tiwa Savage with their comments on social media.
Her statement read in part, “Sad if this is true. Personally, as Georgina, I pray Tiwa pulls through this. She is immensely talented and gifted. She has the world stage on her laps. She did not commit a crime; she is the victim but damn my colleagues did her a disservice with their ‘A Queen I stand’ rhetoric.
“We all should learn to weigh issues critically before our support becomes an indictment of the person we are trying to support. She took the initial step of going public about her being blackmailed, which was proactive and smart of her. My ill-informed colleagues did her a disservice.
However, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, a popular Nigerian journalist, blogger, and social media personality has advised Queen of Afrobeats to take four steps to overcome this trying time.
According to her, Tiwa should educate her son to avoid being backlash by classmates and teachers, write formal letters to her brand endorsement companies to save her space in their company, stop trolling bloggers and set up a US tour to promote her brand once again and find peace in herself because intimate videos don’t make anyone famous.
As part of her strategy to overcome the traumatic experience, the “Kele Kele Love” crooner has decided to venture into luxury real estate.
To stem trolls against her, she has visited the King of Luxury Buildings in Africa – Sijibomi Ogundele CEO Sujimoto. Tiwa said, ”Suji, Buying bags is cute, but that your real estate though…E choke”.
Dubbed the Queen of Afrobeats and being 1st Female to win the Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, Tiwa is known for setting the standard high for herself and raising the bar for female artiste in Nigeria.
