Akwa Ibom State Police Command said it would arraign a three-member robbery syndicate that terrorised the people of Ikot Abasi village in Onna Local Government Area in the state High Court.
A press release by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, on Saturday, said the operatives made the arrest of the syndicate on July 1, while efforts are being made to nab other gang members at large.
The police spokesperson, who mentioned the suspects to include John Okon Anta ‘M’, Michael Osudua ‘M’ and Inyene Joseph Edet ‘M’, said they allegedly attacked and robbed the victim of his Qlink motorcycle, phones, power bank and charger at gunpoint.

John said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had earlier robbed two houses at Afaha Ikot Abasi and carted away cell phones and other valuable items.
While noting that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang; she said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
“The command has arrested three armed robbery syndicate in Ikot Abasi village. One locally made pistol was recovered from them.
“The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Waheed Ayilara, has reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to rid the state of criminal elements and make Akwa Ibom safe for all.
