Robert Mugabe to Get $10M Payoff, Immunity

Ousted Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and extravagant wife, Grace are to receive not less than $10 million pay off and are granted immunity from prosecution against corruption charges.

The 93-year-old’s $150,000 salary will also be paid until his death and the wife is expected to collect half the amount in event of the demise of the deposed leader.

This agreement has been accepted by his party- ZANU-PF.

Ironically, Mugabe’s 37-year-old autocratic rule left Zimbabwe with impoverished population, worthless currency, massive debts, maddening unemployment rate of more than 80 per cent.

Though aging Mugabe fought and got independence for the country in 1980, his iron-fisted rule brought on its heels rutted roads, rural communities without electricity, non-existent education and epileptic health-care delivery services.

Mugabe who only negotiated the whopping sums as part of his exit plan married his former Grace, who recently bought millions of dollars’ worth of property and luxury cars in South Africa.

His 25-year-old son, Bellarmine Chatunga enraged Zimbabweans by posting a clip on the social media taken in a Johannesburg nightclub showing him pouring 200 pounds a bottle of champagne over a 45 pounds watch.

The first couples are to remain in their sprawling mansion known as Blue Roof in Harare. The state is expected to pay for their medical care, domestic staff, security and foreign travel.

This may seem the African way of dignifying corruption by giving the despotic and squander maniac leader so glorious parting despite his insistence to remain in power and continue to loot the treasury of the country unabated.
