A royal father and 42 native doctors from Idjerhe Kingdom in Delta State gathered in Jesse, the traditional headquarters of Idjerhe and conducted traditional cleansing over the rising crimes in the land on Friday, December 18.
Led by the traditional ruler of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government of Delta State, Chief Monday Obukowho Whiskey, native doctors and the people also placed curse on criminals and cultists behind gruesome killings in the community .
The action was as a result of the rising cases of cult-related killings alongside internet fraud, and kidnappings, among others in the community.
Straightnews gathered that more than five persons had died from cult-related issues since last month with some of their bodies brutally mutilated.
Apart from offering traditional prayers using a duck, a puppy, and a cock, they poured libation against the crimes.
During the ceremony, the traditional ruler and members of the community groaned over the growing cases of death as a result of cultism and internet fraud, asking the gods of the land to visit perpetrators of the heinous crimes in the kingdom with calamity.
They publicly warned indigenes who partake in the crime-related activities to immediately repent or be prepared to be visited by strange illness.
