Mr Abubakar Balarabe-Mahmoud, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and leader of the team, at a news conference in Kano on Tuesday, threatened to sue the Kano State Government over what it called “illegal detention and banishment “ of its client.
Balarabe-Mahmoud said: “We have not spoken to the (deposed)Emir since Monday, but we understand they are at their destination somewhere in a remote part of Nassarawa State after driving for nearly seven hours in the night and arrived at about 2 a.m on Tuesday.
In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Service, the Attorney-General of Kano State and the Attorney-General of the Federation are cited as respondents.
