“I thank Mrs. Udom Emmanuel for paying the hospital bill for the widow. My wife was invited to collect a package from Her Excellency last week. This means that if somebody had told her that the man who was shot in the church in Inen community was receiving treatment in the same hospital, I know the governor’s wife would have extended her helping hand to me. But nobody told her about my condition,” he cried.
“Please, tell her Excellency that I am suffering here. My bill is not paid and they stopped my treatment waiting for me to pay before they commence another phase of treatment. I know she has a generous heart. Please tell her to come to my rescue,” he begged.
The wife of the victim, Mrs Itoro Ufenang said the burden of staying in hospital was becoming unbearable, and pleaded with the wife of Governor Udom Emmanuel to render financial assistance to enable the doctors to continue in the treatment.
“Last week, I received a package from her Excellency when she invited displaced persons to come. There was no chance to talk to her because of heavy security. Please, beg her to come tour rescue,” she said.
