Some friends and colleagues of Sridevi, the Bollywood actress, who died Saturday have shared touching tributes on the social media.
Sridevi died while attending wedding in Dubai, family members confirmed to the Indian Express website.
Ram Nath Kovind, President of India remarked “Shocked to hear of passing of movie star Sridevi. She has left millions of fans heartbroken. Her performances in films such as Moondram Pirai, Lamhe and English Vinglish remain an inspiration for other actors. My condolences to her family and close associates.”
Anupam Kher, her fan pointed out “This is how I will always want to remember #Sridevi – Happening, Vibrant, Brilliant, Beautiful, Bestest #QueenOfIndianCinemaSridevi
Konkana Sensharma, her colleague stated “Deeply saddened and disturbed by Sridevi’s passing. Gone too soon. Thank you for the laughter, the grace, the guts and the glory. For being an inspiration for so many young women and men, I say long live your legacy. RIP.”
Noreen Khan, another fan said “Chandni, Mr India, Tohfa, Khuda Gawah, Lamhe, Sultanat, Nagina just to name a few Hindi ones and countless Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films that many of us haven’t even seen or heard of. #Sridevi was a rare superstar and a real beauty. RIP
Born August 13, 1963, the beautiful actress made her film debut as a child actor at the age of four in Thunaivan then laterin the movie Julie, which marked her first foray into Bollywood at 12.
The Indian film star had starred in more than 300 movies.
Her first leading Bollywood role came in the 1979, Hindi film Solva Sawan. Other movies include: Mawaali (1983), Tohfa (1984), Mr. India (1987), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991) and Gumrah (1993).
She is survived by a husband, Boney Kapoor, and daughters- Jhanvi and Khushi.
