Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have allegedly abducted three officers of the Nigeria Customs Services in Yobe State.
The Nation reports that the insurgents abducted the officers during an attack on Geidam town on Wednesday, February 10.
“Honestly, we are all in a very sad mood with what happened to our colleagues in Geidam. We are with them in prayers,” a custom officer spoke with our correspondent in confidence.
A spokesperson of Yobe state police command, Dungus Abdulkarim, refused to comment on the abduction, but he had confirmed the attack in Giedam.
“My men on the ground informed me that the attack was repelled by the Army ground troop with Air Force support. The information I got was that there was no casualty in the attack,” ASP Dungus said.
