    Suspected Robber in police net, Ammunition Recovered in Akwa Ibom

    Akwa Ibom Police Command has arrested a suspected robber and recovered ammunition and other exhibits, as part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and safeguard residents in the State.

    “Police operatives, acting on credible intelligence, arrested the suspect, Wisdom Eyo, 27, in the early hours of today at about 0450hrs,” the Command said. The suspect, a native of Afaha Obong in Abak, was found in possession of one face mask, three rounds of 9mm calibre ammunition, one round of 7.5mm ammunition, items suspected to be charms, large motor bearings, and one pen knife.

    According to the Police, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly acquired the ammunition while he was outside the state, specifically in Edo and Bayelsa States.

    “The suspect has made useful statements to investigators, and further investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of his activities and possible accomplices,” the Police added.

    Speaking on the crime, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, said, “The Command remains unwavering in its commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-led operations, and the protection of lives and property across the state.

    ‘‘We encourage members of the public to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information.
