Three persons were killed in a ghastly accident involving passengers’ bus and a motorcycle in Mbierebe Obio, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
An eyewitness, who identified himself as Okon, told Leadership newspaper correspondent that the accident occurred at the Mbierebe Market intersection when the motorcyclist carrying two passengers failed to apply caution while navigating his way from the adjoining street into the major road.
“The two passengers died on the spot but the motorcyclist died in the hospital where he was taken to for emergency,” Okon said.
The bus, according to him, was carrying supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Victor Attah International Airport, for reception of Governor Umo Eno after his return from participation in the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) Climate Summit in Nice, France.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Akwa Ibom Command, Mr. Paul James told Straightnews online on Thursday that the accident was not officially reported to the Rescue team of the command in the state hence his inability to confirm the incident.
