    Unknown Gunmen Abduct 2 Glergymen In A’Ibom

    Unknown gunmen Monday kidnapped two clergymen in Ikot Akpa Idem, Ukanafun local government area of Akwa Ibom State, Straightnews has gathered.

    Pastor Mfon Akpan Udo Nneke, Area Superintendent of The Apostolic Church, Ikot Akpa Idem was said to have been kidnapped at 5 a.m. by the gunmen while he was preparing for Women Fellowship prayer meeting.

    Nneke who hails from Idung Nneke is a cousin to Dr. Idongesit Umoh, the founder of Sure Polytechnic, Idung Nneke in Ukanafun. However, Umoh was abducted from his country home last year, ransom paid but his abductors amputated his right hand.

    A family source told Straightnews that the gunmen numbering more than three came and whisked the servant of God away into their waiting vehicle.

    So far, the abductors have not contacted the family nor is the man’s whereabout known.

    In a similar development, Deacon Alexander Tom Umoh, a businessman and minister in Qua Iboe Church, Ikot Akpa Idem, has also been abducted by the same unknown gunmen.

    The wherabout of Umoh who was abducted today (Monday) is not yet known as the suspected abductors are yet to establish contact with the family.

    This came two days after Mrs. Okon Monday Joseph from Ikot Akpa Idem whose son is a driver to NsikakAbasi Umoekpo, Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel was released after the payment of N500,000 ransom by the family.

    DSP Diko O. Macdon, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom Police Command in a telephone interview with Straightnews said he was yet to be briefed by the Divisional Police Officer in Ukanafun.
