    UTME 2025: Akwa Ibom-born son, another Get Exact top score

    Akwa Ibom-born son and a candidate from another school have exact top score in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB).

    A Facebook post seen by Straightnews shows that Abasiakama Inyeneobong John, a student of SuccessfulVille International Secondary School in Akwa Ibom, scored an aggregate of 371 marks in the 2025 UTME.

    The 18-year-old student scored an impressive 98 in three subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, as well as 77 in English Language.

    This is as Kaamilah Kareem Omolarami of Nigerian Tulip International College, Abuja also scored an impressive 371, according to the top 10 students’ results and photos shared on the school’s Facebook page.

    Omolarami scored Mathematics – 98, Physics- 98, Chemistry- 97 and English – 78. 

    However, John who is the grandchild of the late Mr. John Asuquo Udo, a retired principal of a public secondary school in Akwa Ibom, would study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt.

    Straightnews gathered from the Facebook that academic excellence runs in the young adult’s family and shared the UTME results of his siblings: “…His elder sister, Edima Inyeneobong John who also sat for this year’s UTME, scored 362, just like his junior brother Abasietimfon Inyeneobong John got 358 in the 2024 examination…”

    Reacting to the result in the social media, Essienubong Moses Umo said: “I give it to this school. “It is a good school. “My Nephew attended this school and had passed his Ssce and utme excellently.”

    Aniekan Emmanuel Okon said: “Congratulations to the blessed family. God continue to protect and guide them.” Cletus Daniel said: “Congratulations to my grandchild, “Keep excelling dear, God be with you now and always.” Cecilia Etukudo said: “Eti ayen ado mkpo uto. “See how he brought the school to spotlight. “Congratulations to him, his family, school and the whole state.

    “If he doesn’t mind a Private University, please let him know that the Mastercard Foundation is calling him for a full ride scholarship at Pan Atlantic University. “Worthy to note, it is the best offer one can have here in Nigeria (well, except he has other offers abroad).” Etimbuk Dicta Udom said: “Why always English? “This guy for score 390 if not for English.”

    Enyedi Ekaiko Prince Ikpe said: “Wow!! “This is awesome. “Congratulations to him.” Peace Ukpe said: “Wow, congratulations to the boy. Roman come and see so you will make mummy proud always.”

    Following Kareem closely in NTIC results were Okadike Kennedy and Anuoluwa Taiwo, with 370 and 368, respectively.

    Meanwhile, NTIC publicly congratulated the high achievers via Facebook, celebrating their hard work and perseverance as part of the NTIC schools community

    The school also celebrated its other students who performed well in the recently concluded 2025 UTME.

    The Facebook post read: “We extend our warmest congratulations to the 88 students who scored 300 and above in the 2025 JAMB UTME Exam. Your hard work and perseverance have paid off, and we’re honored to have you as part of the NTIC Schools community.”

    Reacting, Abu Arham said: “Impressive results! 88 students scoring 300+? That’s not just success—it’s excellence in motion! Kudos not just to the students, but also to the incredible teachers and supportive parents behind this success. Education truly takes a village!”

    “Out of all the students, 88 scored 300 and above! That’s truly impressive! I’m sure it took a lot of hard work and dedication. Keep up the good work, NTIC Schools!” Abusulaym Abdulmaleeq Enejiyon said: “This is indeed an amazing achievement. Congratulations to the students and all that contributed to this success,” Erdal Yilmaz wrote.

    The two results shattered the 10-year-old JAMB record and is the second highest since 2013, a 15-year-old boy who scored 372 still holds the highest result of the 2025 exam in the public domain.

    JAMB released statistical analysis In JAMB’s analysis of 2025 results, comparing performances till 2013, it showed that this year was the best.

    The exam body said that 17,025 (0.88%) candidates scored 300 and above when compared to 40 (0.003%) students who achieved the same in 2015. Also, 565,988 (29.3%) candidates scored 200 and above in 2025, while only 439,961 (24%) did the same in the previous year.
