A social media commentator, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan is facing backlash over alleged disappearance of ₦180 million from the account of a Non-Governmental Organisation owned by him.
Launched in October 2024, the NGO focuses on addressing Nigeria’s educational challenges, particularly in underfunded rural areas.
It garnered significant support, including a notable N100 million donation from renowned music producer Don Jazzy, bringing total contributions to over N200 million.

News of the missing funds sparked skepticism, with some members of the public questioning VDM’s claims and hinting at possible foul play.
However, in an Instagram video shared on Friday, Otse claimed that ₦180 million had been transferred from the NGO’s account to an unknown account, leaving only ₦20 million.
“I’ve not been myself these past few days.
“Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and ₦180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.
“The account is now on PND (Post No Debit). There’s ₦20 million left, while ₦160 million was diverted. We’re heading to Jos to recover the money.”
He announced that authorities had apprehended a suspect in Jos, Plateau State, and ongoing investigations aim to recover the stolen funds.
To prevent future breaches, VDM temporarily deactivated the NGO’s app and assured supporters of regular updates.
Amidst the rumour, Don jazzy who donated N100 million to the foundation has unfollowed VeryDarkMan on instagram.
Meanwhile, popular Nigerian Crypto billionaire Linus Williams better known as Blord has left many tongues wagging online as he drags the living daylight out of activist VeryDarkMan over the alleged missing of N180 million from the NGO money.
Blord, known for past social media disputes with VDM, took the opportunity to criticize the activist on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
BLord accused activist VeryDarkMan of being a thief, claiming he learned the behavior from his mother.
Blord tweeted; “Fear the Loyalty Of A Poor Man!! For a thief will always remain a thief, @Coolverydarkman na better thief , he learnt from his mother.”
Moreover, another Nigerian social media has been buzzing as popular influencer Abisoye Olukoya Michael, aka Oyemykke, publicly confronted Verydarkman, a renowned activist and NGO founder, over the alleged disappearance of a huge sum of money from his organization’s account.
Taking to his Instagram page, he wrote, “I’ve not been myself these past few days. Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”
“The account is now on PND (Post No Debit). There’s N20 million left, while N160 million was diverted. We’re heading to Jos to recover the money.”
As the saga unfolds, social media users have flooded the comment sections with their opinions. Oyemykke, known for his outspoken personality, took to his Instagram page to question Verydarkman about the missing funds.
Sharing some clips on his timeline, he boldly asked Verydarkman to clarify his claims, stating that the story about the missing funds was not clear.
In his words, “Verydarkman, wetin you dey play, it’s either this is not true or he is catching cruise, What do you mean by NGO account was hacked from NGO website? Wetin you talk no clear, e be like say you talk say snake swallow N40 million.”
