Jigawa State High Court in Kazaure sentenced a 70-year-old man to life imprisonment on Thursday, December 9, for defiling three girls.
Alto Ado was arrested on October 14, 2020 for allegedly luring two minors aged seven and nine into an uncompleted building in Kazaure town and forcefully having unlawful sexual intercourse with them.
The watchman was later arrested and charged to court with rape. During the trial, the prosecution presented five witnesses to testify against the suspect.

Ruling on the case, the presiding Judge, Justice Hussaina Adamu Aliyu noted that rape is punishable under Section 3 of the Penal Code (Miscellaneous Amendment) Law, 2014.
Aliyu also said the evidence presented by the prosecution counsel proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Ado was, therefore, sentenced to life imprisonment.
