    Win AFCON cup and get $35,000 bonus- Super Eagles players told

    Each member of the Super Eagles will pocket $35,000 bonus should they win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title.

    According to SCORENigeria, each member of the team will pocket a win bonus of $5,000 per match at the competition.

    A draw will fetch each player $2,500.

    This payment does not include the percentage of the upgraded $7 million prize money for the AFCON champions the players will negotiate with the NFF.

    The Super Eagles are looking to win a fourth title in Cote d’Ivoire

    They are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.

    The 2023 AFCON finals will run from January 13 to February 11.

    Meanwhile, Akwa United head coach Umar Abdullahi, has commended his players for their positive response in their win against Abia Warriors.

    The Promise Keepers rallied from a goal down to beat Abia Warriors 3-1 at the Eket Township Stadium.

    Onu Emmanuel put the visitors in front from the spot before goals from Mubarak Saad, Mohammed Hadi and David Philip secured maximum points for the hosts.

    Abdullahi said the players showed good attitude in the game which culminated in the victory.

    “The players showed good attitude in getting the victory against Abia Warriors,” he said in a post-match interview.

    “Right attitude is what can move us out from the situation we found ourselves in.

    “Kudos to the players for the win and also to the management for giving us a free level playing ground to work.”

    Akwa United moved up to 16th position following the win.
