Head coach of the Zambia national team, Wedson Nyirenda, has named a 20-man provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria next month.
The Chipolopolo are three points behind the Super Eagles, following their back-to-back victories over Algeria.
A victory in Uyo would put them in pole position to qualify for their first-ever World Cup.
Nigeria, however, needs just a point to qualify and Nyirenda has already lined up his preliminary squad for the show-down on October 7.

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has disclosed that he will maintain the same squad he used for their 2018 World Cup qualifiers home and away against Cameroon, for their next home game against Zambia.
Nigeria need a win or a draw against Chipolopolo, to clinch the sole ticket from Group B, after taking four points off the Indomitable Lions recently.
Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr, Coach of Super Eagles, however, admits that the only new player that might come in is Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, who missed the last two fixtures due to a thigh strain.
“We will work with the same set of players for the game against Zambia. Maybe Iwobi will return to the squad if he is fully fit. But for now, the players called up for the Cameroon games are the same players we plan to call for the game against Zambia,” he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
The game against Zambia is billed for October 7 in Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
