    50MAWSP Ready To Launch, Empower Akwa Ibom Women Entrepreneurs

    Akwa Ibom women entrepreneurs will join their 50 million counterparts from 38 African member countries for exchange of business ideas and a one-stop shop for information needs on the financial and non-financial services.

    Sponsored by 50 Million African Women Speak Project (50MAWSP), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, the programme is billed for launch and products’  exhibition on Thursday, April 29 in the state.

    In a press release issued by Princess Eka Etuk, State Representative of 50MAWSP and Deaconess (Mrs) Eme Atakpo, State Secretary & Chairman, Planning Committee says the event will hold at Women Development Centre, IBB Avenue, Uyo at 12 noon.

    The event, according to the release, will also feature Products Exhibition and unveiling of 50MAWSP Pet Project- Basic Adult Literacy Programme, for the non-literate women.

    It aims to connect, network and empower 50 million women, across 38 African member countries to start, grow and scale up as well as exchange business ideas by providing a ‘one-stop shop’ for information needs on financial and non-financial services.

    Constituted as the Country Team and made up of 13 members from strategic Ministries, Agencies and Departments, the project was launched at the national level on February 20, 2020.

    Women in all fields of endeavors are invited to attend the new-epoch making event, the release stated.

    50MAWSP is an initiative designed and launched by Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, East African Community, EAC and Common Market for Eastern and South Africa, COMESA.
