    Press Release

Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has described the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the greatest triumph and victory for every believer in the world.

Eno urged Christians to look beyond their present challenges and embrace renewed hope because the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes a restoration of faith as Easter is celebrated.

Ministering at a Easter commemorative service at the All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket, Governor Eno, who doubles as the Undershepherd of the ministry, noted that the resurrection of Jesus has indeed provided hope for the living who believe in Him.

In his message entitled: The restoration of hope, drawn from Luke 24:13-21, Eno charged believers to know that when God stands by them, no one can stand against them, stressing that it is only God that sanctions any happenstance in life.

He further admonished Christians to always listen to God in the course of service as, according to him, “there is no hopelessness, betrayal or failure in Jesus, but power, revival, excellence, success and joy.”

The Governor urged believers to always have hope and faith in God as He is the key to their restoration and well-being in life, adding that the resurrection of Christ has revived their identity, destiny, expectation, honour, and joy in life.

He enjoined Christians to realise that Christ’s resurrection has totally cast away fears, intimidation, and hopelessness; imploring them to put on the confidence and boldness given to them by his resurrection to excel, dominate, and prosper.

Eno’s leadership marked by inclusiveness and purpose-  Akpabio

Nigerian Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, said Governor Eno’s leadership is marked by a strong sense of inclusiveness and purpose in strengthening cohesion among the people.

Senator Akpabio, who stated this Sunday during an Easter visit to the Governor at his country home, Ikot Ekpene Udo in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, lauded Eno’s humility and commitment to fostering unity and development across the state.

The Senate President hailed the leadership style of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D, describing it as Christ-centred, inclusive and unifying.

He lauded the prevailing atmosphere of unity in Akwa Ibom, stressing the need for sustained collaboration between leaders at both state and federal levels.

According to him, “This visit may appear a surprise, but it is something I should do more often—coming to identify with my Governor, a leader who loves his people, does not discriminate, and has demonstrated clear and purposeful leadership.”

Akpabio applauded the Governor’s humility in governance and expressed optimism about the state’s future under his administration, adding that divisive tendencies such as hatred, bigotry, and disunity would continue to recede.

He availed the Governor with his earlier worship at the convention of The Apostolic Church Field at Ikot Obong Edong covering Ikot Ekpene and Ikono, saying “I sent your message of felicitation, and they were quite happy and prayed for you that God will help you to govern the State in peace and in good health; grant you your heart desires and particularly, your second term successful, and we all echoed ‘Amen.”

Reflecting on the significance of Easter, Akpabio said the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolises victory over adversity, expressing hope that Nigeria would overcome its current challenges, including insecurity and poverty.

Earlier, Governor Eno had thanked him for the visit, describing it as thoughtful and symbolic, particularly during the Easter season.

Eno noted that while he had visited the Senate President on several occasions, he did not anticipate such a gesture in return, describing it as a demonstration of genuine goodwill and leadership.

“This reflects the true spirit of Easter—love, sacrifice, and resurrection.  It is an uncommon gesture and we don’t take it for granted. In some States, leaders in Abuja and those in the states do not see each other and hardly interact, but here in Akwa Ibom, we can all sit together and continue to foster unity and mutual respect,” the Governor said.

The Governor, who described Akpabio as a political grandfather, thanked him for his continued support and fatherly guidance, and assured him of sustained cooperation and prayers.
