The Super Falcons of Nigeria zoomed into the semi-finals of the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) by mauling the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea 6-0 win at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The defending champions finished second in Group B with six points behind the Banyana Banyana of South Africa who top the group with seven points from three games.

The Super Falcons will face Cameroon in the semi-final on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Reigning African women’s footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala scored a hat trick in the game to lay to rest criticisms about her performance from the previous two games.

Thomas Dennerby’s charges dominated the opening exchanges and were rewarded for their efforts when Francisca Ordega opened scoring in the 10th minute.

Oshoala doubled Falcons lead three minutes later with two other strikes in the 22nd and and 4th minutes respectively.

France- based forward, Desire Oparanozie scored Nigeria’s fifth goal of the game three minutes after the break

Dimunitive midfielder, Rita Chikwelu netted her side’s sixth goal of the game three minutes after the hour mark.

In the group other game, South Africa were held to a 1-1 draw by the Shepolopolo of Zambia.

Thembi Kgatlana opened scoring for the Banyana Banyana in the eighth minute, while Racheal Kundananji equalised for the Zambians two minutes later.
