Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, Monday, predicted that Nsima Ekere would emerge as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State during March 2, 2019 election.

Ekere, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the state, is squaring up with Udom Emmanuel, the incumbent governor gunning under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Akpabio, who was also Akwa Ibom governor from 2007 to 2015, defected from PDP to APC on August 8 and there is no interface with his political estranged son, Emmanuel.

“By next year, all these noise will stop and @NsimaUEkere will win the governorship election convincingly,” the Senator wrote in his Twitter handle on Monday.

Akpabio who tweeted “Don’t be intimidated the Egyptian you see today, you shall see them no more. A governor who cannot commission projects does not deserve a second term.”

Though he is aspiring again to represent Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Akpabio has widely been vilified mostly by PDP stalwarts and paid agents in both mass media and social media as he is the one vying for the governorship seat.

This, a political analyst, attributes to Akpabio’s political might in using cutting-edge strategies to deliver his candidates for the state and national positions.

At a press conference on Monday, Ekere pledged “My government will revisit the Ibom Science Park initiated by former governor Victor Attah and it will be fully utilized and put to use for the benefit of Akwa Ibom people.”

He, however, lamented the poor state of Le Meridien Hotels and Golf Resort, Uyo once managed as a five-star but now by the state government.

The APC governorship candidate bemoaned the epileptic electric power supply and shortage of water supply, causing many visitors to stop patronising the hotel.

Recall that APC in the state, Sunday, held an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service and Solemn Assembly to commit its campaigns into the hands of God ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The event which held at Obong Nsima Ekere Campaign Ground along Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo had its theme as, “My Help Cometh from the Lord.”

Patrick Jerome, an apostle narrated the story of David and Goliath and how David was able to destroy the fierce oppressor of his brethren.

Jerome appreciated Ekere and other politicians for seeking thge face of God who would preserve their souls and give them victory in 2019.

Chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ini Okopido told the gathering that the ceremony was a sign that the APC is prepared to take over the state, and deliver President Buhari and Obong Nsima Ekere during the next election.

While announcing Group Captain Sam Ewang as the Chairman, Senators Godswill Akpabio and John Akpanudoedehe as Chief adviser and Deputy Chief Adviser of Obong Nsima Ekere Campaign committee, he charged all party men to be statefast and remain committed to the cause.

Bishop Josephine Eggah, Very Rev. John Eze; Pastor Ime Ibanga, Rev Asukwo Antai prayed for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari, Obong Nsima Ekere and other APC candidates.
