As condolence messages pour in for the family of the deceased National Youth Service Corps member, Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno has told the bereaved parents that only God can console them over the painful loss.
Comrade Etimbuk Daniel, a former Students Union Government President of the Akwa Ibom State University, died in NYSC Camp, Enugu.
Governor Eno, visited the family at Ikot Etim in Ukanafun Local Government Area, commiserated with the parents on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The Governor, who had earlier on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 sent a delegation to commiserate with the family, said found it expedient to visit for them to understand that they are not alone during the sad moment of their bereavement.
He expressed deep sadness over the unfortunate incident, adding that he had on few occasions met with the late Etimbuk and could attest to his brilliance.
The Governor said the visit was to console and comfort the family, adding that the actual comfort and consolation come from God, the Creator of man.
“We are here to see you and console you, hoping this could help to comfort you. There is nothing anyone can say or do to comfort you at this time. Only God can console you, for He is the ultimate Comforter.
“We are here as government. The whole State is heartbroken. The State stands with you and mourns with you. Whatever we can do to ameliorate the pains, we will do it. On behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, we urge you to be strong in the Lord,” he said.
Responding, the father of the late Etimbuk, Mr. Daniel Sunday appreciated the Governor for his compassionate disposition, stressing that he is a true father and compassionate leader.

He said having sent a powerful delegation of Government officials earlier to commiserate them, they never expected he could consider another visit.
Mr. Daniel who was visibly touched by the visit, eulogised his late son as a young man of great potentials, and prayed that God will continue to bless and strengthen the Governor for his love and compassion for the downtrodden.
On his part, the member representing Ukanafun Federal Constituency at the House of Representative, Rt Hon. Unyime Idem, also appreciated the Governor for what he described as “uncommon love and compassion for the citizenry.
He specifically appreciated the Governor for personally visiting the family. He assured that the people of Ukanfun Federal Constituency appreciates the visit and will continue to support him.
