Police, Wednesday, admitted that they have arrested some suspects connected with the killing of Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, former Chief of Defence Staff, who was killed at Jitata, along Keffi-Abuja road while he was returning from his farm.

Though details of the arrested suspects were sketchy at press time last night, Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, Force Public Relations Officer, said he could not comment on the matter.

He, however, said some suspects would be paraded at force headquarters today without giving an inkling of why they were arrested.

Vanguard gathered that a few of those being held may have been arrested in one of the military barracks in Abuja.

“We have made a breakthrough in the case and we’ve arrested suspects who will be paraded on Thursday,” a source said.

It was furthered gathered that the Police were able to track some of the suspects because they called the wife of Badehs’ friend in the United States, demanding for the payment of ransom.

Recall that the said Badehs’ friend, an engineer, was abducted and later rescued by combined security agencies investigation the former CDS’ killing.

It will also be recalled that the former CDS was killed in the evening of December 18, 2018, while returning from his farm.

His Tundra Toyota truck was riddled, with bullets piercing the windscreen and killing him instantly.

Of the three occupants of the vehicle, however, Badeh was the only one that was killed, fuelling speculations that he was assassinated.
