The Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command says it has apprehended a notorious car snatcher and dealer of stolen vehicles.

They are Victor Nele- car snatcher and Abraham Dafe- dealer of stolen vehicles.

In a statement issued in Warri by DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command,  said the suspected robber snatched a Toyota Camry car from his victim at gun point on August 9, 2018 at Ozoro junction in Delta.

“On Aug. 9, 2018, a Toyota Camry car with number plates: AG805LEH was snatched from its owner, Bright Ngbeken at Ozoro Junction, Oleh at gun point.

“On March 29, 2019, the police was tipped-off that the vehicle was seen at a mechanic workshop in Abraka.

“Following the tip-off, a team of detectives led by Sgt. Ikechukwu Obuseh, under the Command of the Divisional Police Officer Oleh, CSP. Na’illah Mo’d swung into action, apprehended the buyer, Abraham Dafe.

“Dafe led the detectives to the ring leader of the gang, Victor Nele, aged 33 who though denied being the actual robber but admitted he purchased two cars from a man called `General’, the PPRO said.

According to Onovwakpoyeya, the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.

Meanwhile, Adeyinka Adeleke, the Police Commissioner in the state, has warned criminals to steer clear of the state, noting that there would be no hiding place for them to perpetrate their evil acts.

Adeleke also commended the bravery of his personnel and assured the people of Delta of adequate security of lives and properties at all time.

“These are warning signals to criminals in Delta that there is no safe haven for them. They should either quit crime or flee the command,’’ the commissioner said.
