A female expatriate identified as a Briton was killed  by gunmen at the Kajuru Castle, Kaduna state Police Command on Sunday said.

The state Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo identified the victim as Miss Faye Mooney.

Sabo said continuous efforts are still on course to rescue the kidnapped victims and bring the perpetrators to book.

“The slain expatriate lady, Miss Faye Mooney, is identified to be a Briton. She was a staff of Mercy Corps Nigeria.

“Investigation into the incident is in progress please,” he said.

The attackers were to have raided the popular Kajuru Castle around 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

It was gathered that she was at the place from Lagos with other friends as tourists.

The female expatriate, according to an unidentified resident of the area, was gunned down by the kidnappers.

“We understand she was gunned down from the hill by the kidnappers who tried to gain entrance into the castle but failed.

“They took away about five other locals since last night but one person escaped,” the resident said.

DSP Sabo, while confirming the incident in a statement Sunday, said only two persons were killed.
