The Nigerian Christian Secondary School Old Students‘ Association (NCSSOSA), Ukpom in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has rolled out new measures to move the association forward.
The measures are robust welfare programmes to encourage alumni, prizes to students who excel in academic performance, physical meetings of EXCO and general meetings and formation of sub-meetings to involve all members.

‘‘It is important to note that belonging to this great association is not all about contributing money but the willingness to contribute something.
‘‘So, everybody can contribute something and every contribution matters a great deal. Let us therefore move from being spectators to active participants in the affairs of our association,’’ he enjoined.
According to him, no matter their positions in life, professions and achievements recorded, they must not forget the institution that contributed to the foundation, adding that it was time to give back to the system that made them.
He paid special tributes to his predecessor, Pastor Iniobong Nwoko and those who served before him for contributing to the growth of the body, and for demonstrating uncommon sense of commitment and dedication to the cause.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the association, Aniekan Etiebet urged the new Executive members of Nigerian Christian Secondary School Old Students‘ Association to lead by transparency, inclusiveness, and vision.

Etiebet, who spoke during a change of baton to the new EXCO members, described leadership as a call to service, not privilege, advising them to build on the achievements of their predecessors.
While congratulating the alumni for the confidence reposed in them, he said ‘‘It is not by coincidence that this transition is so unique, from a spiritual healer to a medical healer.’’
‘‘The BOT remains committed to guiding, supporting, and advising you in line with our constitution, to ensure stability, unity, and progress,’’ he noted.
The school was founded by Church of Christ Mission in 1964, following the land grant by Ukpom community in 1962.
