Four-Time African Footballer, Samuel Eto’o, Retires From Football

A four-time African footballer of the year, Samuel Eto’o has announced his retirement from professional football on social media after a 22-year of trophy-laden career.

Former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker Eto’o announced his retirement from football at the age of 38.

The Cameroon forward, who made his debut in 1997, scored more than 350 goals across his club career, winning the Champions League twice with Barcelona and once with Inter.

Eto’o, also named African Player of the Year four times, posted the news on his official Instagram, saying: “The end. Towards a new challenge. Thank you all, big love.”
