    Please, Take Care Of My Children- Says Woman Who Killed Herself In A’Ibom

    “Please forgive me, I am sorry. Gerald please forgive me. Andre please forgive me. You guys are my life.”

    This was the pathetic note a young nursing mother reportedly dropped for her two children before she committed suicide due to some marital problems.

    Mrs. Esther Frank, from Anambra state, living in Uyo, Akwa Ibom capital was alleged to have consumed Sniper, a poisonous substance.

    To her husband, she dropped a suicide note, “Please, take care of my children please. I can’t take the pressure and lies you are telling again. I can’t take it, please it’s too much. You made everyone around me to hate me.”

    The woman, in her early 30s, was rushed by neighbours to St. Luke’s Hospital in Anua, Uyo local government area, where she was confirmed dead.

    A neighbour of the deceased, Mrs. Iboro Etuk, spoke to DailyTrust on Friday, April 10, said she and the deceased talked before the unfortunate incident.

    Etuk said they both stood outside the gate of their compound to buy water before the deceased told her to take care of her children as she was going out to buy something.

    She explained that when she later heard her baby crying continuously, she went inside and saw her on the floor. She noted that in trying to wake up the deceased, she discovered the bottle of Sniper and raised an alarm, which attracted the landlady and others to the scene.

    They, according to her, rushed her to the hospital where she died, leaving behind a three-month-old baby and a three-year-old son.

    “Mrs. Esther Frank, is in her early thirties. She just graduated from a university and is yet to go for her National Youth Service Corps. She is from Anambra state while her husband, Mr Frank is from Delta state but he is currently in Dubai,” she said.

    The children of the deceased are now currently staying with the neighbour.

    When the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nndum Fredrick was contacted, he said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
